Ashish Vidyarthi

Ashish Vidyarthi who was born on June 19, 1962. The actor has also won a National Film Award for Best Supporting role for film Drohkaal in 1995. Ashish Vidyarthi moved to Delhi in 1969 and joined the Delhi Public School where he won acclaim for his performances as an actor in both dramatic and comedic roles.





Ashish Vidyarthi began acting in minor roles and got his break in an S.V Paranjpe serial. Since then he kept on acting in a number of minor serials in regional languages and in appeared in Ghutan, a major Hindi serial in the 1990s.

Ashish's break in Hindi cinema came with Naajayaaz and Baazi. The actor soon began appearing as a typical villain. As a result most of his films were not top of the line and were more of standard commercial masala fare. He did have some hits like Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai.

He also acted in supporting roles in some films such as Ek Rishta or a comic villain in Jodi No.1 and Haseena Maan Jayegi, Koi Kisi Se Kum Nahin, Ziddi, 1942: A Love Story. His 2009 releases are Lahore, Red Alert: The War Within, Kisse Pyaar Karoon.

Johny Lever

Johny Lever the Indian actor was born on January 7, 1950. Johny Lever is known as a comedian of great regard in the hindi cinema and has appeared in several films since the 1980s playing comic supporting roles.



Johny Lever started off as a comedian in real life while still at school. the actor dropped out of school when he was in seventh grade. Johny Lever got his first break in Indian cinema with the film Dard Ka Rishta. On 8 December 1998, Johnny Lever was also sentenced to seven days imprisonment for disrespect to the Indian National Anthem and Indian Constitution during a private performance in Dubai.

Arbaaz Khan Biography

Arbaaz Khan, born August 4, 1967 is a hindi film actor, and little brother of superstar Salman Khan. He acted in leading and supporting roles. He is now venturing into producing movies in Bollywood.

Arbaaz's father is Salim Khan, a successful screenwriter, and his mother is Salma Khan (maiden name Sushila Charak), while his stepmother is dancer and Bollywood actress Helen. He is brother of Superstar Salman Khan and actor-producer Sohail Khan. He is married to model and actress Malaika Arora. They have one son, Arhaan, born in 2003.

He made his debut in the 1996 film Daraar and his performance in a villainous role of a psychotic wife-beater was well received. He received the Filmfare Best Villain Award for his performance.

Though not a very successful actor in his solo films, he has starred in many multi-starrer hit films such as Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998) and Garv: Pride and Honour (2004) where he acted opposite his brother Salman.

His villanious act in the film Qayamat: City Under Threat (2003) was also well accepted at the box office. He also played supporting roles in the hit Priyadarshan comedy films Hulchul (2004), Malamaal Weekly (2006) and Bhagam Bhag (2006). He recently played supporting roles as

Dilip Tahil-Biography

Dilip Tahil an Indian film, television and theatre actor made his acting debut playing a minor role in the 1974 film Ankur. He got his first major role in the 1980 Ramesh Sippy film Shaan.

Dilip Tahil appeared in over 100 Bollywood films throughout the 1980s and 1990s, mostly playing character and villain roles. His roles ranged from the main villain, henchman, father, relative and police officer.

He has also notably starred multiple times alongside Bollywood icon Shahrukh Khan in Deewana (1992), Baazigar (1993), Darr (1993) and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani (2000). On television Tahil played roles in Sanjay Khan's television serial The Sword of Tipu Sultan and Ramesh Sippy's Buniyaad.

He also briefly appeared in the highly acclaimed 1982 international award-winning film Gandhi and two Merchant-Ivory English-language films: The Deceivers and The Perfect Murder (both released in 1988).

Dilip made a comeback to Bollywood after an hiatus appearing in the films Shakalaka Boom Boom, Partner (2007) and recently Race (2008). In 1984 he acted as father for Baby Sonia in Navodaya Appachan's My Dear Kuttichathan3D Malayalam.

The Legend-Rajendra Kumar

Rajendra Kumar was born in Sialkot, in the West Punjab province of British India, currently in Pakistan on 20 July 1929. Rajendra Kumar was an Indian movie actor, who acted in Bollywood films and was one of the most successful actors in the 1960s and 1970s. Kumar also produced several films in the 1980s starring his son Kumar Gaurav.

Rajendra Kumar made his debut in the 1950 film Jogan in which he starred opposite Dilip Kumar and Nargis. He then shot to fame in the blockbuster hit Mother India in 1957 in which he played Nargis's son. His first major success as a romantic leading man was in Vijay Bhatt's musical superhit Goonj Uthi Shehnai (1959).

The 1960s saw Rajendra Kumar rise like no other star had risen, except the first Superstar Rajesh Khanna, and there was a time when every film starring him was a silver jubilee hit.

In the mid-1970s several of his films bombed at the box office. The sunshine came when he was offered an interesting role in the film Saajan Bina Suhaagan opposite Nutan. The film was a huge blockbuster of 1978.

In 1981 Rajendra introduced his son Kumar Gaurav in the film Love Story which he produced, directed and also starred in. The film was declared the blockbuster of 1981.

Rajendra Kumar produced several other films starring his son which did not do well. In 1986 he produced Naam with his son and his son's brother-in-law Sanjay Dutt in leading roles which was a box office success but the success was short-lived.

His last attempt to revive his son's career was with the 1993 film Phool where he once again acted alongside his son but this film was also a box office failure. Rajendra Kumar died on July 12, 1999 of cancer only 8 days before his 70th birthday.

Vinod Mehra

Vinod Mehra was born on 13 February 1945 in Amritsar, India. Vinod Mehra was an Indian character actor in Bollywood films. He started out as a child actor in a few films in the late 1950s and early 1960s before starting his adult film career in 1971 acting in over 100 films throughout the 1970s through to the 1990s. Vinod Mehra was also the producer and director of the film Gurudev which was released posthumously after his death at the age of 45 in 1990.


Vinod Mehra made his debut in the 1958 film Raagni as a child artist playing the younger version of the character played by Kishore Kumar. Vinod started his adult film career with the film "Parday Ke Peechhay" opposite debutant Yogeeta Bali followed by Elaan(Rekha), Ek Thi Rita(Tanuja), Amar Prem(1972) and Lal Patthar.

Vinod worked with many actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar, Rajesh Khanna and Dharmendra etc. His frequent female co-stars included Rekha, Moushumi Chatterjee,Yogita Bali,Shabana Azmi and Bindiya Goswami. Some of his prominent films were Amar Prem, Nagin, Jaani Dushman, Khud-Daar. He received Filmfare Nominations as Best Supporting Actor for Anurodh (1977), Amardeep (1979), and Bemisal(1982).

Many of Vinod's delayed films were released after his death and dedicated to his memory. Some films for which he had not completed filming were delayed and re-written not to involve his character such as Insaniyat (1994) and Aurat Aurat Aurat (1996). Vinod Mehra died of a heart attack at the age of 45 on 30 October 1990.

Bharat Bhushan-The Legend

Bharat Bhushan (1920 – 1992), born in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India was a prominent actor of the 1950s and 1960s in Bollywood. Bharat often took on roles of musicians in the movies.

Bharat Bhushan was a second rung hero, with Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand being at the top rung. He lost his first wife, and married actress Ratna, who was his co star in the movie Barsaat Ki Raat. Farooq Shaikh was born on March 25, 1948. Farooq is an Indian actor, who did most of his films during the 1970s and 1980s. Farooq Shaikh's major contribution was in Parallel Cinema or New Indian Cinema. Farooq has worked with directors like Satyajit Ray, Muzaffar Ali, Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Ketan Mehta.

He went to St Mary’s School, Mumbai and then to St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. Farooq studied Law at Siddharth College of Law. He attended the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

In Shaikh's early days, he was active in theatre, doing plays with IPTA and with well-known directors like Sagar Sarhadi. Farooq's first major film role was in the 1973 film Garam Hawa. One can never forget his wonderfully inspired performance in the hit comedy Chashme Baddoor, which was to pave the way for his later roles in sitcoms on television.

He went onto act in several notable films such as Shatranj Ke Khiladi (1977), Noorie (1979), Chashme Buddoor (1981) and Kissi Se Na Kehna (1983).

In the 1990s Farooq acted in fewer films and made his last few film appearance in Mohabbat (1997) and Saas Bahu Aur Sensex (2008). Currently he made his comeback with the film Lahore (2009). Farooq has indeed come a long way.

Prem Nath Biography

Premnath Malhotra born on November 21, 1926 is a legendary Hindi film actor.

Born in Peshawar, the family moved to Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh after partition, he then had moved to Bombay.

He married the actress Bina Rai with whom he fathered actor Prem Krishen and Kailash Nath (Monty). They are also the grandparents of actress Akanksha Malhotra. His sister Krishna married Raj Kapoor and his brothers Rajindernath and Narendranath were also actors mostly in
comic and supporting roles. He was also a family friend of the actress Asha Parekh.

Premnath made his film debut in Ajit. He got major roles in Raj Kapoor's first directorial film Aag and Barsaat (1949) which were his first major commercial successes. Premnath went on to appear in many films for the next three decades, some of which were the biggest blockbusters in Indian film history. The films in which he played the leading role failed to do well but the films in which he played the central villain role or supporting role were some of the biggest blockbusters in Indian film history.

Some of his most note-worthy films were Aan (1952), Teesri Manzil (1966), Johny Mera Naam (1970), Tere Mere Sapne (1971), Roti Kapada Aur Makaan (1974), Dharmatma (1975), Kalicharan (1976) and Desh Premee (1982). He also starred in the religious Punjabi film Sat Sri Akal (1977).

He fell in love with actress Bina Rai during the filming of Aurat. They married and formed a production company together called P.N. films. They pinned high hopes for their films, which didn't become hits, such as "Shagufa," "Prisoner of Golconda," "Samunder" and "Watan." Thus, the Premnath-Bina Rai pairing never clicked on the screen.[1]

He earned Filmfare Nominations as Best Supporting Actor for following films- Shor (1972), Bobby (1973), Amir Garib (1974), and Roti Kapda Aur Makaan (1974).

Apart from Bollywood films, he also appeared in an episode of the American television series Maya in 1967 and a 1969 American film titled Kenner opposite former football player turned actor Jim Brown.

His last film appearance was in Hum Dono (1985) after which he retired from acting. He died in 1992 of a heart attack at the age of sixty-six

Vivek Anand Oberoi or Viveik Oberoi was born on September 3, 1976. This bollywood actor is the son of famous actor Suresh Oberoi and Yashodara. Vivek Oberoi enjoyed great success in early years and was the fastest rising star in bollywood.

Then in 2003 he called a press conference making strong allegations that superstar Salman Khan threatened him. Since that incident his career has slowed down to a crawl, although his reputation as a good actor remains untarnished.

In 2003, Vivek Oberoi was seen in Darna Mana Hai. Mani Rathnam’s Yuva (2004) about student politics saw Vivek as Arjun who is all set to go abroad. Masti (2004) on the other hand was a lighthearted comedy.

Prem Chopra

Shatrughan Sinha was born on December 8, 1946. He is an Indian actor and now politician. He is also known as Shotgun. Sinha moved to Mumbai to become an actor and established himself as a prominent member of the Indian film industry.
