Madan Puri had a big family including three brothers and one sister. His elder most brother's name is Chaman Puri. Amrish Puri(an Indian actor) is a younger brother of the actor. His other siblings, a younger sister Chandrakanta Meh and a younger brother Harish Puri. Madan Puri has performed in more than 300 films and the actor has spent over 40 years in Indian cinema. He made a debut in the Indian Film Industry with the movie Ahinsa in 1946.He has given a variety of roles in his movies. The actor has not only played the negative characters, but also appeared as the hero's or heroine's father, brother, uncle, grandfather,police office and politician . Madan Puri has performed in so many Punjabi movies like 'Jatt Punjabi and Jatti'. Many of his movies were released after his death right until 1989. Madan Puri's last film was Santosh. His memorable movies are -Anmol Ratan (1950), Deewana(1952), ,Taqdeer(1958) and Howrah Bridge(1958) and Kashmir Ki Kali (1964).
