Vivek Oberoi

Vivek Anand Oberoi or Viveik Oberoi was born on September 3, 1976. This bollywood actor is the son of famous actor Suresh Oberoi and Yashodara. Vivek Oberoi enjoyed great success in early years and was the fastest rising star in bollywood.

Then in 2003 he called a press conference making strong allegations that superstar Salman Khan threatened him. Since that incident his career has slowed down to a crawl, although his reputation as a good actor remains untarnished.

From 2002 to 2004 Vivek Oberoi got his first break in movies with Ram Gopal Varma’s Company (2002) about the mafia. The movie received many awards. Vivek played Chandu who becomes a protege of sorts to Malik which was played by Ajay Devgan. Vivek received the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award and the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award.

In Road (2002), the actor starred with Antara Mali, as a couple who run away from home, only to run into a whole lot of trouble. In Saathiya (2002), which was a remake of the Tamil hit Alaipayuthey, Oberoi played Aditya Sehgal who elopes with his lover and how their relationship evolves.

In 2003, Vivek Oberoi was seen in Darna Mana Hai. Mani Rathnam’s Yuva (2004) about student politics saw Vivek as Arjun who is all set to go abroad. Masti (2004) on the other hand was a lighthearted comedy.

From 2005 to 2009 Vivek didn’t see a lot of success with releases like Kisna (2005) and Pyaare Mohan (2006). But Omkara (2006) changed that. Omkara was based on Shakesperae’s Othello and Oberoi played the part of Cassio as Kesu Firangi. Apoorva Lakhia’s Shootout at Lokhandwala was a critical and commercial success.

Fool and Final (2007) and Mission Istanbul (2008) didn’t make it big. Vivek appeared as himself in Luck By Chance (2009). Currently his other to be released movies are Prince and two untitled movies with Vikram Bhatt and Renzil D’Silva.
Vivek Oberoi took off full throttle in Company, lost steam in between and seems to be getting back on solid ground yet again.
