Bollywood Biography: Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan or Aamir Hussain Khan was born on the 14th of March in the year 1965. He is a Hindi film actor, producer and director. He has starred in a number of films that are both critically and commercially acclaimed films. He was able to earn recognitions as one of the best actors in Hindi cinema.

He first started in Yaadon Ki Baaraat in the year 1973 as a child actor. In the year 1984 he started his career again after 11 years via the movie Holi. He tasted success via the movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in the year 1988. This is the movie of his cousin Mansoor Khans. He got his first film fare award in his portrayal in the movie Raja Hindustani in 1996. In 2001 he was able to get his second best actor award via the movie Lagaan. This movie also garnered the national film fare award. Aamir Khan was born to a Muslim family in Mumbai. His father Tahjr Hussain was a producer of Hindi films. His uncle Nasir Hussain was an actor, director and film producer just like him. He has done a lot of movies and was able to succeed in most of his movies.

In his career, the movie Lagaan was considered the best of his movies and it even won the national film awards and was nominated for the Oscars. The film received the best foreign language film. It is still considered among the best of Hindi movies. The success of Lagaan was followed by Dil Chahta Hai.
The movie Rand De Basanti of Rakesh Omprakash Mehra was a major hit where he also got the best performance award. The film became the premier movie of that year and was able to garner a lot of awards all over the world.

Aamir Khan produced the movie Taare Zameen Par which became a great hit in 2007. This movie is the second one produced by the Aamir Khan productions. The movie was well accepted by the audience from all around the world. It has garnered a lot of awards. In the year 2008, Aamir appeared in Ghajuni which was a block buster. It was one of the highest grossing movies of Bollywoood. Just recently, his 2009 movie 3 Idiots also garnered a lot of awards. He was married to Reena Dutta and had two children. Upon his divorce he married Kiran Rao in 2005.

Atul Kulkarni

Atul Kulkarni was born on September 10, 1965 at Belgaum in Karnataka. Atul completed his secondary education (10th Standard) from Haribhai Devkaran High School, Solapur, Maharastra. His father, a businessman and his mother a housewife were settled in Solapur. He completed his Junior College (12th Standard) from Belgaum and was able to secure a seat at Engineering College in Belgaum. Due to his dis-interest in Engineering he quit the college and came back to Solapur to join D. A. V. College, Solapur which was affiliated to Shivaji University. He completed his graduation in English Literature.

Atul Kulkarni's first stint with stage was during his highschool days while studying at Haribhai Devkaran High School and later during his college days at D. A. V. College he was actively participating in cultural gatherings. While studying itself Atul joined Natya Aradhana, an amateur theatre group from Solapur. Working with this group helped him groom better. After working back stage for two years, finally he got a chance to act. He decided to pursue his career in professional acting.

Atul joined the National School of Drama, New Delhi. (1992-1995 batch) His acting skills were given final touches at this institutions which has produced legendary actors of international fame. Atul Kulkarni holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Dramatic Arts from National School of Drama, New Delhi. Atul apssed out from NSD in 1995 and at the age of 30, he became a professional actor. Since 1995, atul has acted in 6 plays in 4 languages , 21 films in 6 languages and has won several awards , including two national awards.

He has worked in a number of films such as Delhi-6, Rang De Basanti, Allah Ke Bande, Yeh Mera India, Gauri-The Unborn , Page-3, Khakee, 88 Antop Hills, Dum, Manasarovar, Chandni Bar, Kairee, Bhoomigeetha.
