Indian filmstar Mukri was born on 5 January 1922 as Muhammad Umar Mukri in Alibagh. Mukri started his career in acting from the flick Pratima along with notabl film star Dilip Kumar in 1945. Mukri with his toothless smile and perfect humor timing surprised the audiences in more than six hundred movies, over six decades in Bollywood film fraternity.
Mukri's notable flicks are Mother India released in 1957, Sharabi (1984), Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Lawaris (1981), Bombay To Goa (1972), Gopi (1972), Kohinoor (1960) and many more. The actor left behind his wife and five children. His career in movie had always ran parallel to veteran actor Dilip Kumar. Mukri died in Mumbai on 4 September 2000 at Leelawati hospital due to heart attack.
