Dara Singh is a famous Punjabi wrestler, born on 19 November, 1928 in Dharchuk, Punjab. He is well known wrestler in Indiand he started in acting Bolywood films in the year 1962. He has competed against many great wrestlers like Lou Thesz and currently Dara Singh is a Presidentof All India Jat Mahasabha. After winning so many wrestling he got the fame in the country in the 1940's, 50's and 60's. Then in 1980 he started acting in television with the role of Hanumana in the epic Ramayana, and Dara Singh has done more than 100 movie in his life.
He is not only famous actor and wrestler but he has directed and produced many movie also like Mera Desh Mera Dharam, Bhakti Mein Shakti, Karan and lot movie. He has acted many role in super hit movies like Grandfather in Jab We Met, Chaddha Uncle in Kal Ho Naa Ho, ,in Zulmi,Anmol,Dillagi and lot more
Dara Singh has two sons and three daughter Vindu Dara Singh, winner of Big Boss Season 3, Amrik Singh who stays inPunjab. Dra Sigh is retired from wrestling in year 1983, but he is into the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame.
