Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan was born on August 16, 1970 in New Delhi and is the son of the Nawab of Pataudi, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, and the actress Sharmila Tagore. Saif is the heir apparent to the headships of both the royal houses of Bhopal and Pataudi.Saif was first seen on the silver screen in 1992 with Parampara and tasted successes with Main Khiladi Tu Anari and Yeh Dillagi. But it was Dil Chahta Hai (2001), which was the turning point in his career. After that it was Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) that won him the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award, and soon after he won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Hum Tum (2004).




After these films Saif Ali Khan emerged as an actor to reckon with and met with commercial success in Salaam Namaste (2005), Race (2008) and Love Aaj Kal (2009). His roles in the critically acclaimed Parineeta (2005) and Omkara (2006) are remembered even today.

Saif Ali Khan is the founder-owner of his production company Illuminati Films. Saif’s second film Agent Vinod would be directed by Sriram Raghavan and will see a UK release by Eros International based in London. Saif Ali Khan was awarded the Padma Shri in 2010 and has been signed by director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the remake of the acclaimed American novel, The Great Gatsby. Saif Ali Khan has two children from his ex-wife Amrita Singh and he is currently dating actress Kareena Kapoor.

Pradeep Kumar-Biography

Pradeep Kumar was born in early 1925 in West Bengal He was an Bengali and Hindi film actor. When Pradeep Kumar was 17 years old, he decided to take up acting. Pradeep started his film career in Bengali films. His notable roles Bengali films were in Alaknanda(1947) directed by renowned filmmaker Debaki Bose and in '42 (1951).




Kumar then shifted to Bombay and Filmistan studios, and had an important role in the film Anand Math (1952). Kumar played the lead role with Bina Rai in Anarkali (1953) and with Vyjayanthimala in Nagin (1954).

Both films were very popular and had songs that added to the movies success. Pradeep Kumar had a spate of releases in the second half of the 1950s. He did not enjoy as much success in the 1960s, though Ghunghat (1960) , Taj Mahal (1963) and Aarti were successful.

Pradeep Kumar also worked with Meena Kumari in seven films that were Adal-E-Jahangir, Bandhan, Chitralekha, Bahu Begum, Bheegi Raat, Aarti and Noor Jahan and with Mala Sinha in eight films - Naya Zamana, Hemlet, Badshah, Detective, Faishon, Ek Shola, Duniya Na Maane, Mitti Mein Sona.

Kumar did not get to act in lead roles with the newer heroines of the 1960s like Sadhana, Saira Banu, Babita or Sharmila Tagore, though he did work with Asha Parekh in Ghunghat and Meri Surat Teri Aankhen and with Waheeda Rehman in Raakhi(1963).

In 1969, he moved to character roles with Sambandh, but did not have many visible roles till Razia Sultan in 1983. Pradeep also won the Kalakar Award-Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 1999. This royal actor died in Calcutta on October 28, 2001, at the age of 76.

Rajesh Khanna - The biography

Rajesh Khanna was born on December 29, 1942 in Amritsar. Rajesh's real name is Jatin Khanna. He is an Indian Bollywood thespian and laureate of the Dada Saheb Phalke Legend Golden Actor Award,winner in 2008. Rajesh has also served a five year tenure as an MP in the Indian parliament (1991-1996). Also known as Kaka, he has been termed "perhaps the first Superstar of the Indian film industry"




Rajesh Khanna married actress Dimple Kapadia in March, 1973. The couple got divorced. In 1966, Khanna joined the film industry after winning an All India Talent Contest making his film debut in Aakhri Khat, which went unnoticed.

Rajesh Khanna was an extremely popular star of the 1970s. Kaka usually appeared in romantic melodramas, where he was often paired with Mumtaz or Sharmila Tagore.



Some of his successful films include Aradhana, Sachaa Jhutha, Haathi Mere Saathi, Amar Prem, Do Raaste, Anand, Avtar and Souten. From 1969 to 1973, Rajesh had 15 consecutive hits. Several of the popular songs sung by Kishore Kumar in the 1970s were picturised on Khanna and helped his films become successful.

In 1969, Rajesh Khanna achieved overnight stardom with Shakti Samantha's Aradhana, in which he played a dual role of father and son. He became the craze of the nation, the first actor to be known as No. 1 superstar of Hindi films and remained so for next six years.

During 1991-1996, Rajesh Khanna was a Member of Parliament for the Congress Party, from the New Delhi constituency.

In 2001-2002, Khanna played major roles in two TV serials Aapne Parai (B4U and DD Metro) and Ittefaq (Zee TV). He is the winner of six awards and was nominated for about a dozen.
