Raj Babbar

Raj Babbar was born on June 23, 1952 in Agra, India. Raj Babbar was trained in the Method school of acting at NSD. Raj Babbar started opposite one of the well known actresses of Indian cinema Reena Roy in the Hindi film Sau Dina Saas Ke, which led to their having an affair which was helpful for his future career.

Raj Babbar also played the role of a rich playboy-rapist in B.R. Chopra's Insaaf Ka Tarazu, which starred Zeenat Aman and was the debut film of the 13 year old Padmini Kolhapure.

Then followed Nikaah with Deepak Parashar and Salma Agha, Aaj Ki Aawaz with Smita Patil. He was also successful in Punjabi cinema as he gave remarkable performances in Chan Pardesi (1980) and Long Da Lishkara (1986).

The actor also starred in the hit Punjabi films Aasra Pyar Da (1983), Marhi Da Diva (1989), Mahaul Theek Hai (1999), Shaheed Uddham Singh (2000), Yaaran Naal Baharaan (2005), and Ek Jind Ek Jaan (2006). Some of the noted films of the actor are Kissa Kursi Ka (1977), Aap To Aise Na The (1980), Jazbaat (1980) Sheen (2004), Shikaar (2004), Bunty Aur Babli (2005), Corporate (2006), Ek Jind Ek Jaan (2006), Aap Kaa Surroor: The Movie (2007), Fashion (2008).

Even with his acting capability, Raj Babbar has been unable to attain the super-star image in Indian cinema.
